Best “Lost” Promo. Ever.

I’ve been a fan of Lost since the very beginning. Back when I thought the smoke monster was a dinosaur and I thought the island was actually a “Purgatory” type place.

Most endings of Lost cause me to shake my head and wonder what in the world is going on, but I always come back for more.

The latest episode, “Everybody Loves Hugo” was awesome but what got me the most was the promo afterward. They played the creepiest promo ever featuring that disturbing Willy Wonka scene in the tunnel.

Check it out:

If you want to see the original Willy Wonka scene, it’s below along with the lyrics.

Willy Wonka [singsongy]:

There’s no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There’s no knowing where we’re rowing
Or which way the river’s flowing
Is it raining?
Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a-blowing?

[apprehensive, now spoken]

Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of hell a-glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes! The danger must be growing!

[yelling]

For the rowers keep on rowing
And they’re certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing!

[screams]

I love Lost! I’m glad to see it end though, I don’t think my brain can take much more. Oh, and this summer Tina and I will be watching the whole series from the start again!

Thanks to Sci-Fi Wire for the links to the videos and lyrics!

A Muppet Family Christmas

One of my favorite Christmas Specials ever was “A Muppet Family Christmas”.  It featured Jim Henson’s Muppets from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock.  You won’t see that on TV anymore because all three properties are owned by different companies now and all of the existing DVDs are actually edited versions…

So, for your viewing pleasure… it’s A MUPPET FAMILY CHRISTMAS!

Wonder Twin Powers Activate!

I gave up on Smallville a long time ago.  I gave up on the fact that it would be a legit Superman origin series.  I quit watching when the Clark and Lana stuff got way too much to bear, but then I came back for the arrival of the Green Arrow.

Every few episodes we got some great stuff… The Legion of Super Heroes, Martian Manhunter, etc.

This season, I’m back just to watch The Wonder Twins light up the screen.  I’m a big fan of the Superfriends so my TiVo will be set.

It’s just a promo, but the message is clear; “We’re stronger when we’re together”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (New Living Translation)
9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

If we’re in it together and we’re on God’s side, there’s nothing that can’t be accomplished.  More often than not we tend to go at it alone, but when we do we find ourselves struggling to achieve the full potential that God has set us up for.

Life is a team sport and without the help and support of others, any win is empty.  On the leadership side, if no one is following you, then you’re not a leader – you’re just going for a walk.  Who is out there that you can team-up with?  What unknown powers are waiting to be activated to do what God has set out for you to do?  The adventure awaits.
