These Are Not the Kicks You’re Looking For.

Adidas is releasing the Imperial Stormtrooper Sneakers.

Yup, these are for adults.  I’m a huge Star Wars fan, but this… is a little much.  I hope these shoes help you run fast, because the people chasing you might beat you up for wearing them.

Spider-Man Arrested! J. Jonah Jameson Was Right!

[via Sci-Fi Wire]

Turns out that the only person with less luck than Spider-Man … is the poor Spider-Man impersonator.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Christopher Loomis was working Hollywood Boulevard in his Spidey suit, collecting tips from tourists by posing for pictures, when he allegedly slugged a man in the face and arms.

Once the victim refused to press charges, you’d think that would be the end of it, but Loomis was arrested when the police discovered he had outstanding misdemeanor warrants and held him in lieu of $5,500 bail.

And it turns out that it wasn’t so easy for the LAPD to find the alleged assailant, even though he was dressed in the bright red-and-blue costume. But when officers responded to a radio call reporting a battery by Spider-Man, they discovered four different people dressed as Spidey along the tourist-filled corridor that includes Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

By the way, if you are interested in digging deeper into the world of these costumed “entertainers”, you should check out Confessions of a Superhero.  It’s a great documentary that covers the lives of the people behind the costumes at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

I checked it out on Netflix’s “Watch Instantly” feature and apparently this whole getting arrested thing happens pretty often for Superheroes there.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Trailer

I’m a fan of the DC Universe… a BIG fan.  And I have to say that the latest DC Animated movies that have been released have been knocking it out of the park.

I’m also a fan of the Crisis storylines.  (I’m a sucker for a parallel universe… although if I have the goatee does that mean I’m the evil Wayne?)

Check out the trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths and post a comment… What do you think?  Do you have a favorite animated comic flick?

Wonder Twin Powers Activate!

I gave up on Smallville a long time ago.  I gave up on the fact that it would be a legit Superman origin series.  I quit watching when the Clark and Lana stuff got way too much to bear, but then I came back for the arrival of the Green Arrow.

Every few episodes we got some great stuff… The Legion of Super Heroes, Martian Manhunter, etc.

This season, I’m back just to watch The Wonder Twins light up the screen.  I’m a big fan of the Superfriends so my TiVo will be set.

It’s just a promo, but the message is clear; “We’re stronger when we’re together”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (New Living Translation)
9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

If we’re in it together and we’re on God’s side, there’s nothing that can’t be accomplished.  More often than not we tend to go at it alone, but when we do we find ourselves struggling to achieve the full potential that God has set us up for.

Life is a team sport and without the help and support of others, any win is empty.  On the leadership side, if no one is following you, then you’re not a leader – you’re just going for a walk.  Who is out there that you can team-up with?  What unknown powers are waiting to be activated to do what God has set out for you to do?  The adventure awaits.

Clash of the Titans: The Remake Trailer

I LOVED the original Clash of the Titans as a kid. Harry Hamlin, Burgess Meredith, Laurence Olivier, and a mechanical Owl.

Well, now they are remaking Clash of the Titans.  I’m going to reserve judgement until I see the movie, but to be honest I’d be really into it if they just re-released the original in the theatres. (Why don’t they do that?  It seems like it would be cheaper than remakes)

Anyway, here’s the teaser trailer for the new movie, and for fun here’s the original too! What do you think?

Get $100 from Walmart When You Buy a Blackberry.

Just found this on GIZMODO.  If you make a Blackberry purchase at Walmart between November 14th – 21st, Walmart will give you a brand new $100 giftcard.  Pretty cool with Christmas coming up or if you wanted to buy any accessories on your phone or something.  Here’s the list of eligible Crackberrys:

  • AT&T Curve 8310
  • AT&T Bold 9000
  • Sprint Curve 8330 (Red & Titanium colors)
  • T-Mobile 8520 (Black, White, and Frost)
  • T-Mobile Pearl 8120 (Emerald)
  • Verizon Storm
  • Verizon Storm II

The deal is valid both in stores and online (of course with the 2-year contract stuff).  And remember, shop responsibly… $100 in giftcards isn’t worth getting $200-$300 in debt. Don’t be a slave to the lender (Proverbs 22:7) Especially if the lender is Walmart… (They never let you out!)

Anyway, it’s a great deal if you have the cash and you are in need of a smart phone.
